Le Président de la République, le Général d’Armée Abdourahamane Tiani, a animé ce mercredi un grand meeting populaire à l’Arène de lutte traditionnelle Aboubacar Djibo d’Agadez, marquant la poursuite de sa visite dans la région.
Devant cette assistance, le chef de l’État a rendu hommage à l’héritage historique de résistance de la région, invoquant les figures de Koacen et Tegama. Il a lancé un appel au « sursaut patriotique », affirmant que « la défense du Niger est une responsabilité collective ».
L’annonce phare de ce discours a porté sur la gestion des ressources naturelles. Le Président Tiani a fermement affirmé que « la richesse du Niger appartiendra désormais au Niger ». Il a officialisé la nationalisation de plusieurs sociétés minières, notamment dans les secteurs de l’uranium et de l’or, afin que les retombées « bénéficient directement aux citoyens ».
Il a également invité les opérateurs économiques nigériens à investir dans les secteurs productifs comme la transformation agroalimentaire ou la production de matériaux de construction.
Le Président s’est dit attentif aux préoccupations des populations d’Agadez, citant la sécurité, les infrastructures, la santé, l’éducation et l’accès à l’eau. Sur le volet sécuritaire, il a assuré que l’État consacrait des « moyens considérables » au recrutement et à l’équipement des Forces de Défense et de Sécurité (FDS).
Concernant la souveraineté alimentaire, il a cité les efforts du gouvernement via le Programme de la Grande Irrigation, dont bénéficie Agadez, et l’interdiction d’exporter certains céréales, des mesures qui auraient permis de « stabiliser les prix » et « d’éviter les périodes de soudure ».
La cérémonie s’est achevée par la remise au chef de l’État de présents symboliques, dont des chameaux offerts par le Sultan de l’Aïr, scellant une étape de plus dans le dialogue direct entre le pouvoir et la population.
